Are you a registered organ, tissue donor, recipient, living donor, patient waiting, or a donor family member with a talent for art?

We are excited to announce the Green Shirt Day 2027 Design Contest. This is your chance to have your design showcased on the Green Shirt Day t-shirt!
In recognition of the #LoganBouletEffect and Humboldt Broncos’ Logan Boulet, who inspired hundreds of thousands of Canadians to register as organ donors, we invite you to become part of this remarkable legacy. Join us in the Green Shirt Day 2027 Design Contest and help spread the message of hope and inspiration.

Contest Guidelines

  1. Eligibility: Open to all Canadians who have been touched by organ donation. Contestants must sign the attached waiver to be eligible to participate. Download Waiver Here
  2. Originality: Artwork must be the individual’s original design, an image suitable for printing on a green t-shirt. Artwork created, generated, or developed in whole or in part using generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools is not eligible.
  3. Submission Format: Submit your artwork via the official contest submission form as a high-quality PNG or JPG file.
  4. Two Entries Per Person: Each person can submit up to two designs.
  5. Criteria: Artwork can include the wording Green Shirt Day, Logan Boulet Effect, Humboldt Strong, and “Register, Tell Your Family, Be Inspired”. French or English
  6. Deadline: Submit your design by October 3, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (EST)
  7. Winner Selection: The winning design will be chosen by a nominations committee and featured on the 2027 Green Shirt Day t-shirt. The winner will receive a $1000 cheque and Green Shirt Day merchandise.
  8. Acknowledgment: All artists will receive a follow-up email acknowledging receipt of their submission.

    Green Shirt Day 2026 Design Contest Terms and Conditions
    1. Eligibility
      1.1. The contest is open to all Canadians. 1.2. Contestants must sign the attached waiver to be eligible to participate. (Download Waiver Here)
    1. Entry Submission

      2.1. Entries must be submitted through the official Green Shirt Day Design Contest submission form on the Green Shirt Day website. 2.2. Each participant may submit a maximum of two (2) designs. 2.3. All artwork must be the participant’s own original work and must not infringe upon the copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of any third party. 2.4. All submitted artwork must be human-created. Artwork created, generated, or developed in whole or in part using generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools is not eligible. 2.5. By submitting an entry, the participant confirms that they personally created the artwork and may be asked to provide original artwork, working files, sketches, or other supporting material to verify authorship.

    1. Design Specifications

      3.1. Designs must reflect the spirit of Green Shirt Day and help promote awareness of organ and tissue donation and the human impact of donation. 3.2. A high-resolution JPEG or PNG preview of the design must be submitted with the entry. 3.3. Digitally created designs must also include the original editable or layered source file whenever applicable. Accepted source formats may include AI, EPS, SVG, PSD, PDF, Procreate, or other professional editable formats suitable for production. 3.4. Artists creating artwork by hand must retain the original artwork and submit a clear, high-resolution digital reproduction. The original artwork may be requested if the design is selected as a finalist or winner. 3.5. Submitted artwork must be suitable for reproduction and adaptation for Green Shirt Day campaign materials, including apparel, print, digital media, signage, and promotional materials. 3.6. The maximum file size for each uploaded file is 10 MB, unless otherwise indicated on the official contest submission form. 3.7. Designs must not contain offensive, inappropriate, discriminatory, defamatory, or otherwise unsuitable content.

    1. Submission Deadline
      4.1. The contest begins on April 19, 2026, and ends on October 3, 2026. 4.2. All entries must be received by 11:59 PM [EST] on the contest end date.
    1. Judging and Selection
      5.1. Entries will be judged based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and overall visual appeal. 5.2. A panel of judges selected by Green Shirt Day organizers will evaluate the entries. 5.3. The decision of the judges is final and binding.
    1. Prizes
      6.1. The winner will receive $1000.00, and some merchandise as determined by the organizers. 6.2. The winning design will be used as the official Green Shirt Day 2027 t-shirt. 6.3. The winner will be notified via email and announced on the Green Shirt Day website and social media channels.
    1. Intellectual Property
      7.1. By submitting a design, participants grant Green Shirt Day an exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display the design in connection with the contest and promotion of Green Shirt Day. 7.2. The winning design will become the exclusive property of Green Shirt Day, and the winner agrees to transfer all rights, title, and interest in the design to Green Shirt Day.
    1. Publicity
      8.1. By entering the contest, participants agree to the use of their name, likeness, and design for promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
    1. General Conditions
      9.1. Green Shirt Day reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the contest at any time without prior notice. 9.2. Green Shirt Day is not responsible for any technical issues or malfunctions that may affect the submission or judging process. 9.3. By participating in the contest, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions and any decisions made by the contest organizers.
    1. Limitation of Liability
      10.1. By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless Green Shirt Day, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest or the use of any prize won.
    1. Governing Law
      11.1. The contest and these terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada.
