School Announcements and Involvement

We invite you to join us in supporting Green Shirt Day on the days prior to April 7th, since we know Good Friday being a holiday might make things difficult! By participating in Green Shirt Day, we can honour the legacy of Logan Boulet and raise awareness about the importance of organ donation.

We kindly request that you consider allowing students and teachers to wear green shirts or their favourite hockey jerseys to school on April, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th to show support for organ donation. This will not only help raise awareness about the importance of organ donation but also honour the memory of those affected by the Humboldt Broncos bus crash.

In addition, we encourage the administration to consider incorporating lessons on organ donation and the Logan Boulet Effect into the curriculum leading up to April 7th. This will provide students with an opportunity to learn about this important topic and inspire them to become registered organ donors in the future.

Suggested Announcements for Elementary and Secondary Schools

Elementary Schools:

1. Hi everyone! April 7 is Green Shirt Day. We would like to ask everyone to come to school wearing green or a hockey jersey to show our love and support for the Humboldt Broncos and in recognition of the Logan Boulet Effect and the importance of organ donation.
2. Hi everyone, just a reminder that Tuesday, April 7th is Green Shirt Day! Please remember to wear your favourite green shirt to show our support to the families who were affected by the Humboldt Broncos bus accident in 2018 and to help keep Logan Boulet’s legacy alive by raising awareness about the importance of organ donation. We are excited to see everyone in their coolest jerseys or favourite green shirts!

Secondary Schools:

Do you know that April 7th is Green Shirt Day? It’s a day where we show our support for organ donation and reflect on the Logan Boulet Effect. Do you remember hearing about the Humboldt Broncos bus crash that happened five years ago? That was a difficult time for so many people, but something positive came out of it. One of the players, Logan Boulet, was able to help six people live on by donating his organs. This courage inspired 150,000 Canadians to become registered organ donors. So, let’s show our support by wearing green to school!

Newsletter Writeup Ideas

On April 7, schools across Canada will be participating in the third annual Green Shirt Day. In 2018, the tragic Humboldt Broncos bus crash impacted the entire country. One of the players, Logan Boulet, was able to help six people through organ and tissue donation. His gift showed there is always hope, even in times of great tragedy.

Students can participate on April 7th by wearing a green shirt in support of all those affected by the Broncos bus tragedy and to honour Logan’s legacy of selfless giving. Keep the “Logan Boulet Effect” going. Be inspired to wear green and spread the word about the powerful impact of organ donation.
